Nephrology

Nephrological  Department in Rabin MC is headed by professor Uzi Gafter.  All kinds of diagnostics, therapeutic and surgical treatment of nephrological diseases  are successfully performed. The basic deseases are:

• Kidneys disfunction  of various parentage
• Urolithiasis
• Congenital defects of urinary tracts
• Malignant neoplasms of  urogenital system (kidney cancer).

   In the  Section of Dialysis  of  Nephrology Department  the following  kinds of  dialysis and all necessary follow-up actions are carried out:

• hemodialysis
• peritoneal dialysis
• haemofiltration

The criteria of adequacy of purification by  dialysis method at renal insufficiency may vary. It is considered satisfactory to establish such a regime  of treatment that will provide working capacity of the patient, possibility of adequate nutrition, absence of  anaemia, normal arterial blood pressure, and also preventing progressing  neuropathy.
